Very interesting and informative book!
Very interesting book, came out in 1986 warning people about the danger of eating too much sugar (including the sneaky sugary stuff that has been processed into our food unbeknowest to the public). They're still doing it to us folks!! This is a large part of the obesity and diabetic epdemic we are in the middle of now....Too bad we didn't know about this book back in the 50s when it all began...
Valuable information for good health
I wish I had know about the information in this book years ago. It iis insightful and thought provoking and making me think more carefully about the amount of sugar I eat.
'Pure' sugar, not so pure after all.
I bought this book as I was curious to find out more about the problems with consuming sugar, besides the obvious one of eating it to excess causes you to put on weight and cause dental carries. Nothing about sugar is 'pure' when you read about the way sugar is extracted and processed it is far from natural. I had read articles about the dangers of eating sugar before, but this is a real eye opener with trials and case studies being performed and documented. It also mentions how the sugar industry tried to defame the author for bringing out the truth. I now think about what sugar is, in every day processed foods and try to avoid it.
