Two daring hamsters, Pwtyn and Pwtan, plot a day of adventure from their cage and go on an exciting day to school, much to the surprise of the children and teachers. This funny and engaging story is an enjoyable read. It helps children undertand about the vulnerability of animals, and also the fears of being small and in a new environment such as first day at school. With an effective use of humour, characterisation and adventure, and suitable for ages six to eight, this is a great read for young children and is the follow up to 'Pwtyn Escapes'.
Alys Jones lives near Caernarfon, North Wales and has published many children's books in Welsh, as well as the fore-runner to this, Pwtyn Escapes.
