Set in New York and suburban Connecticut, the early months of 1970 leave in their wake an array of indelible memories for single parent, Rob Greer. All of them painful. His younger son is confined for treatment following a nearly fatal OD, Rob loses his globetrotting management job due to corporate restructuring, and then he's bedside when his fiancee dies after a brief illness. Starting anew at forty, Rob gives support to his wayward son while beginning his search for a new job and also the woman who will one day replace his late Marisa. Affairs with Elena and Brynn follow. Is either of them the answer? Then there are turning points and Rob moves to New England. It's there that he launches a new career and also hopes he can find love again. But he's burned his bridges; has he done the right thing?
