This children's book tells the true story, in simple language and delightful photos, of the Black Americans who led the struggle for equality in the United States of America. From Rosa Parks, to Martin Luther King Jnr., and on to Barack Obama the story outlines their magnificent contribution to history, which holds relevance throughout the world. It is also a tale about never giving up - it is never wrong to reach for the sky, whoever you are! The book is aimed at children of all ages - children come to books at different ages and with different abilities, so please use it how it suits best - some will be able to read it, others can have it read to them. It can be used by educators, in a school setting, or for leisure reading at home. Even if you are t a child, enjoy it, and perhaps even learn a little and be inspired!
Lucy Erber was born, raised, and still lives, in London, England. She also spends as much time as she can in her hideaway home at Frinton-on-Sea, Essex. She shares her life, and homes, with her partner Sue. Martin & Julie are her grown up children, and Sade, Reon, Imogen & Freya are her adored grandchildren. This book was originally written as a Christmas present for them. Most of her working life has been spent both working with, and for children, and she is currently working in the social work profession. Outside of her work, she enjoys being with her family, attempting to be a chocolatier, walking & being by the sea, art deco design, travel, and doing whatever she can to make the world a better place - in no particular order! Rosa Sat.....A True Story About People Who Pressed On is her first book and she has a couple of other writing projects being developed at present.
