J.W. Smidt first began writing short stories in high school after losing a petty bet with some friends. Flash forward to the present day, and he is still writing, whether it is sappy poems, or the occasional short story to lighten the mood. He began writing 'The Heroes of Mortalla' using personalities around him to influence characters he made for short stories. After a few characters had been made, he decided he was onto something, and from this realization came the story you are holding in your hands today. J.W. Smidt currently resides in Colorado and is pursuing his college degree. When he isn't busy with college or training his puppy, Syra, he enjoys spending time with his friends, who continue to provide him with colorful personalities and creative ideas.
