Mick Malone is hoping to get a job offer with the Secret Service when a suspicious accident pulls him into the world of big farming and the debate over genetically modified food. When a second, nearly identical accident kills a prominent farmer on the other side of the Atlantic, Mick is anxious to get back to Scotland and join forces with his former colleague, Jock McDuff. Mick and Jock have their work cut out for them as they try to navigate through an unfamiliar world of plant genetics and the challenges of food production in the twenty-first century. When a beautiful young woman, dedicated to sustainable farming, enters the picture, Mick is forced to choose between the career of a lifetime or the woman he loves.
Sallee Peterson (1952-still kicking) was born in Columbus, Ohio. At six years old, her family moved to the San Francisco Bay Area, which has been her main residence ever since. She financed her college education by taking a job at Intel Corporation, when the company was only 5 years old and continued working in high tech in Silicon Valley for many years. Sallee has always been drawn to the arts, writing and oil painting since she was a young child. Sallee especially likes a good mystery in the cozy style and loves to get pulled into mystery series so she can really get to know the characters. Sallee lives with her husband and enjoys spending time with her son, daughter, granddaughter and her sisters and brother. When not writing, Sallee is golfing, gardening, cooking (and eating), and doing her part to keep the economy strong by helping the retail industry thrive.
