All his life, Geri has been tormented by dreams. This day is different. Upon waking, he faces the horror of being a half-blind cripple, unwanted by his father, and living in a land raped by its king. As he strikes out on his own, Geri fears the world will see him as thing more than a beggar on the streets of Nynamarg. To survive, he must face his fears and summon the courage to accept his magical gifts. It is he who must find the oracle to reignite the power of the Menghi Monks and restore balance to the land. On his quest, Geri is guided by The Old Man of the Witching Woods, a silver wolf, a crew of stalwart friends, and his dreams.
