This film was somewh...at different from others in Randolph Scott's later pictures - it features the easy-going fine man we knew and loved and introduced the sterner character of the last few movies. The Cinemascope photography was first class, making full use of the panoramic landscapes - it also had a full original music score (even though it may not have always suited some situations). The story, based on Elmore Leonards novel was about as dark as it could get for this era - therefore, quite a surprise. Richard Boone plays his horrid character so convincingly he's despicable. This has to be one of the better Scott supports and the Re-mastered DVD transfer is superb in sound and image quality!
