The BBCs TILL DEATH US DO PART is one of televisions funniest and controversial sitcoms of all time. Alf is a shocker a mixture of bluff, sentiment and outrageous prejudice, but mixed in with his bravado and braggadocio are some grains of truth. In this feature-film version, Alf chronicles the hilarious history of the Garnett family from the war with Hitler, to the later, and more sporting battle with some other Germans during the 1966 World Cup Final. Alf has weathered the war years in true Garnett fashion with his wife Else, and when the war ends he is still shouting the odds about anything and everything from bloody socialist Harold Wilson to his randy scouse git son-in-law. Warren Mitchell delights with his pitch-perfect performance of the miserable old sod Alf who is the same irascible, off-beam, true-blue patriot and iconoclast that made the character one of the most successful comedy creations of its time. Along for the ride are regular cat members Dandy Nicols, Anthony Booth and Una Stubbs, plus familiar British favourites Bill Maynard), Frank Thornton and Brian Blessed.
