In Thought Dreams, Michael Albert responds to questions regarding how one may synthesize a variety of progressive theories - feminisms, Marxism, environmentalism, multiculturalism - to create a conceptual framework with which to comprehend the world and develop a vision for the future. Thought Dreams addresses questions of radical theory, vision, and strategy in an accessible question and answer format. It commences with Albert responding to the most basic of questions: What's a theory? This provides the foundation for the subsequent building of a conceptual framework (with the bricks being the concepts such as class, race, sex, gender, etc.) in the processual project of constructing a perspective and strategy for building a better, more just, society.
Michael Albert is the author and/or co-author of over a dozen books, including What is To Be Undone, Political Economy of Participatory Economics (Princeton University Press), Trajectory of Change, and most recently, Parecon (Verso).
