After an abrupt end to his marriage, lonely and mired in depression, Seattle resident, Jim Billings, has decided to commit suicide. How the job gets done, however, may t be on his terms, as he unwittingly employs the services of Ben, a twisted hit-man whose viral madness dominates events immediately and whose motivation for killing may be more than just money. A make-shift plan sweeps Jim along, and, within hours, he finds himself alone in the wilderness, hundreds of miles from home-yet still alive! Left to die? As the ensuing hours of madness-hours among the living-continue accruing for him, his new reality becomes a contorted and scrambled other-life that includes carrying a body out of the wilderness for his odd and unstable, would-be killer. All the while, the tiniest seeds of doubt begin to grow, obscuring ever so subtly the reasons he had for ending it all in the first place. If only he can hold those doubts at bay, staying below the point between reason and insanity, he may, in the end, get what he wants.
