The Rev. Dr. Beth Cooper reveals an epidemic for the church precipitated by cultural attitudes about gender. Secular law, United Methodist polity and history, gender studies and family theory systems and leadership paradigms show the systemic character of complex gender issues. Vivid personal stories from clergywomen who experienced sexual harassment show the degree of the problem. With powerful, painful stories, solid research and substantive recommendations, this study ultimately will change the way ministry is implemented and managed.
