Balthasar, Melchior and Caspar, the three kings of the Nativity story, are well kwn; but what about a fourth king? Kind Ashtar got left behind when his friends set off to see Jesus. He made his own pilgrimage to see the Child, with a boy he had met on the way, and experienced a miracle in the stable that the stories have left out. This is a beautiful retelling of the Nativity story and really brings the tale to life. Gerard Carton worked in residential special education for nearly forty years. Teaching religious education was a rich source for storytelling, using different artefacts to gain and hold the attention of pupils with limited concentration. He shared much laughter, joy and happiness with many special people. He is w retired and lives in Derbyshire.
