Unexpected Adventures picks up two years after The Curse as sixteen year old, high school student, Brittany Standish accompanies her cousins Makayla and Taya to Lake Powell for spring break. There is a serious accident on the highway and Brittany uses the magic sparkler she doesn't kw she has. She rescues and restores life to a family. Shamus shows up to protect her and Robearus, brother of the Nenuphar soldier in book one, also shows up tracking the Elfin magic. The action and adventure starts on page one and continues throughout the book.
