A must-own for your Christmas CD collection

Without a doubt this is the favorite Christmas CD for my family (two adults; 6 kids). We always play this one first, last and the most. We love it so much that I bought 7 copies this year to give as gifts to friends and family. Burl Ives has such a unique voice. His delivery is so folksy and cheerful. Most people know Burl as the snowman in the Rudolph The Red-nosed Reindeer program. If you like folk music, you owe it to yourself to check out his other, non-Christmas CDs. The classic Christmas songs on this CD are sung wonderfully, and the songs that will be new to you will become new favorites. I have absolutely no reservations in recommending this CD to you. Burl Ives - Have A Holly Jolly Christmas CD

We had this Christmas album when I was a little boy. It was my favorite, especially The Little Drummer Boy song. I used to put the album on the record player, turn out the lights and lie under the lit Christmas tree and reflect on the season and what it meant to me. I'm happy to have found the CD! Holly Jolly Christmas by Burl Ives - A winner!

This is a great, great Christmas album, even for - or maybe especially for - those too young to know about the incredibly versitile talent that was Burl Ives; if you've never seen it, his role as "Big Daddy" in "Cat on a Hot Tin Roof" is not to be missed.
The simple and traditional arrangements on every song on this disc is classic. If you play guitar and like to sing to your children or simply sing to your children these tunes and the way they're played are especially good. Have A Holy Jolly Christmas

I purchased this LP about 1969 when my children were small. We enjoyed hearing it every Christmas for the next 17 or so years. The record played is long gone, but when I saw this CD listed I just had to buy it for my grandson. My daughter loved hearing it again and her son loves it now. This is a great find. Grandkids loved the music

I bought this CD hoping that my grandkids would love to hear Christmas music sung by someone from my generation. The grandkids are 5 and 2 and they both loved hearing the songs and trying to sing along. They played it over and over and over AND over.
