Not so happy or I have no idea how to operate it!

I am having trouble with the still pictures not being in focus. I have tried a few different settings but I still have the same problem. Maybe someone knows something I do not and can help with making sure it does focus. I have lost many special moments using this camera. I am about to throw this away.Read full review...

JVC Everio GZ-MG330

This camera was within my price range so it caught my eye immediately. I was eyeing the "flip" camera and the knock offs of that line of camera and I liked the price but the quality was lacking. Those cameras are very jerky and can't zoom in without grainy images and blur. You have to walk towards people like you are using your camera from your cell phone. What's worse is you can't take extended length videos, many of them cut you off after 10 minutes and create a new file. This camera on the other hand, looks and feels like a real camera. The zoom is amazing and crystal clear. It is the same basic size as a can of pepsi and it does everything I need for a real camera. If was just putting videos up on youtube I guess the flip line would be ok, but I plan on recording family events as my newborn son grows and this is the camera for that. I know it isn't HD but it does take widescreen 480i quality pictures which is fine for me. People get caught up in the "1080p" and don't realize they are getting a camera that won't work well for family or sporting events that have objects far away or need to have a steady hand to view. I couldn't be happier with the features and quality of this camera.Read full review...

JVC Everio GZ-MG330

Ok here 's my look at this product. I like it because it has a 30 gig built in memory hard drive plus one can add the MicroSD Card to it also for me that is more for shorter filming of something you wish to share with someone or let them copy it to their pc. The bigger stuff you record is better for the CD and tools u get to make your own DVD and share it with family members as we did with our daughters graduation this year in 2009,was great to have. The zoom is pretty good and when using it you have to do it slowly for the focus to catch up with the zooming. Battery life is good as long as you are shooting most of what you are doing with the standard battery in one time shooting or at least the same day. Letting battery sit just one day(and deffinately 2) kills it after just a few minutes of shooting film...I suggest 2 batteries or getting an extended life one like i did, they are worth the money and if you look them up online(sometimes not even on ebay, just google batteries for this unit) and you will find a better deal alot of times...Ok picture taking..I'll put it this way,i have read alot of reviews and only thing i can say is if you want to use this for pics it seems to do stills ok(about a 2pixel style and only in good light),go out and get a used 5MP camera, they're good, cheap and plantiful on ebay and other places on the net. They take much better pics than these units. Other than that i think this is a good product for the money and with the 30 gig already built in you really don't need to buy extra memory unless your shooting the stars, just buy the extended life battery along with the one that comes with it and you will do good. But to let you know, these models are being pulled off the shelf, not because they're bad, because they are coming out with newer models this year with more features, better picture quality and are suppose to improve the pic taking better. But for me this will last me awhile i'm sure and are not a bad buy as long as you get one from someone that is telling you the truth about the product. If you need a bigger hard drive they are out there in the 60gig and 120gig models also....Oh one thing you wil notice, but it is true with all these smaller camcorders so i have seen... The volume you play back at through the camcorder is always low,but when you put it on your t.v. to watch through a/v cables or when doing a burning od a DVD you will see the cam picked up the music, voices or whatever it is you are trying to record pretty good actually(very small speaker mounted on all these models and none are loud coming out no matter how high you turn up the volume after recording)....Gte one of these 30 gigers for around 200.00,it's a fair price, anymoire than that i would wait. I also highly recommend the Sony in thesame price range but it does not have the built in hard drive, you have to buy your memory. Just throwing that in. Godd Buying to you.Read full review...

The Little Camcorder that CAN!!!

As a producer on public access cable, i needed to eventaully get my own equipment to film my shows. Long story short, I ran into the HDD series of camcorders and then to JCV. With a hard drive, I never need tapes and I can easily transfer video files from the camera to my PC. You can even trim off the unwanted parts of the video footage directly on the camera! Not only does this have a 30gb harddrive but it also has a micro sd slot. This camcorder is fantastic IMO! Just as advertized it can get up to 9999 still photos, 37hrs of video footage in low resolution setting and 10hrs on the highest quality setting.

I had no problems with the automatic focusing or light adjustments.
FF and rew buttons are gone and replaced with the LCD screen lite touch buttons and the lazer touch strip...That is really cool!!!
No lens cap to lose because the lens is protected by a built-in shutter.
Low on light? This also has a built-in spot light.
Sound reception is great IMO! From 15' away in a regular room I got clearaudio talking at regular tone. No need to shout at this camcorder.

With the battery in it, its an inch longer than a Motorola Razr phone, just as wide and 3x as thick. Yeah, its small! The connections are well hidden and placed in maybe the best places where you can still shoot with everything connected.

The full package comes with battery, usb, AC, AV cables, hand strap, neck strap, and remote. No worries if you get a used one without the manual just go to JVC.com. The thing that brought it home for me is that it also comes with the software and editing disc. With this, I no longer need to go to the public access studio to edit my footage and produce a show. Import, edit, add intros, transitions, text, effects, then produce add chapters if i want. Basicly you can almost make your DVD run like a store bought movie. Then you can burn to CD or DVD or save as a file on your PC.

It would be super moronic of me to find something faulty or flawed about this JVC Everio GZ-MG330 camcorder.

Great Camcorder for the Price

Pros: 30G hard drive, HiDef, resonably priced, quality
Cons: Factory software is very limited, can only play, stop, and delete. No editing features at all. Good sound but sounds distant/muffled; battery life is good but not great.
Summary: I very nice quality camcorder that is price competitively. I was going to buy a Flip Mino but for a few dollars more on ebay I could afford this camcorder. It is compact and fits in your pocket (you will have a bulge). Overall, a good starting camcorder

Nice Camcarder

Love the camera. I received it the next day after ordering it, and began recording on the spot. Quality is nice staright from the A/V cables on my 32" HDTV. The software is easy to use, I made my own mini movie the same night to test it out. The only thing I havent tried is burning a DVD but from the software it looks like its easy. The camera is not High Def, but better than most cameras out there, it has a 1/6 CCD better than Sony, which has a 1/8 CCD for cameras on the same price range. Its refurbished so cheaper but you get the same value if you're not picky about having a few if not any tiny scratches. Mine was perfect no dents, scratches, nothing.Read full review...

Yes or No ?

Picked this up for my better half as a xmas present. She's been wanting one for a few years now. I've been eyeing these Hard drive units since then and the pricing has finally dropped enough that I considered it.

What we like/dis-like:
The fact that we dont need tapes or disk! What we dont like about that, The fact that once the hard drive gets full and you transfer your videos over, there is no way to review or show someone anything unless you have your videos burned to the disk or stored on a portable Hard drive or the system there.

Battery life, To be honest, we are pretty happy with the battery life! Its allowed us to record the whole night christmas eve at 2 family events!!

Oh I must mention something that had me pretty impressed, The light on the camera. That this is BRIGHT! and to think its so tiny. I am still amazed at the level of brightness.

The ease of use. Well since its still new and we both dont practice going over manuals before playing with something new, I'd say this camera is pretty user friendly. I've checked the manual a few times but overall it wasnt needed. Pretty much common sense on most things.

Transfering Data/video/images: Very simple! Once the software is installed, and you connect the camera you will be presented with 2 options. Everio or (drive letter) back up. Go with Everio every time, it checks what you have backed up and what hasnt been. Very simple, Very nice features. Simple one touch dvd copy if you have the JVC burner (of note, I am not sure if ONLY jvc burners will work, it is possible that a USB type DVD burner may work, check other reviews).

Light weight and a comfortable grip. The laser touch is also pretty nice. menus are easy and quick to navigate. Sound quailty and picture are more than fantastic, CRYSTAL CLEAR !

Overall, I'd say you can't beat the value to cost on this. I am impressed and very happy. I HIGHLY recommend this camera! Good job JVC!!

We have yet to use the Micro SD card slot.

OF note: The still image's are tricky to take. Most of them were blur and this could be due to us not checking the manual or movement when taking it. We will resort to the manual to see if there are other settings but at the moment this is the most disapointing feature.

splendid product. just perfect

this jvc camcorder is just lovely.first is great value for price. the red colour makes it just too sexy to use. its tiny in size and fit perfectly in your hand. the operation of the camcorder is so straigt forward and very simple. the huge memory is also great, 37 whole hours of recording is like a cctv.
the only one more thing about the camera i would have wish for is the battry lasting as long as the hours of maximum recording, the whole 37hrs. but then again i konw that will not be realistic. no battry can last that long.
over all, i think this camcorder is just brilliant, from style, operation, memory and its general use. am usually very fusy with my electronics but not this one. i am in love with and i think every one will love it too.

Great Little Camcoder

Very easy to use. I video alot of my daughters sporting activities and this camcoder does a great job. It has many features that lend to a very nice final product. I transfer all to a dvd which is very straight forward and simple. I sometimes have to video three softball games in one day so I purchased an extra battery and a home charger. The supplied battery is good for about an hour and a half of continuous recording. I do not stop the recording because it segmates the transfer to dvd process, which I found to be the only drawback for me. This is an excellent little video recorder.Read full review...

Excellent camera for the average user. Many features

This model has a 30gb hard drive, which stores plenty of video. The micro sd slot on the bottom is also useful for expansion and media portability. Threaded end on the lens for the addition of filters, etc. Plenty of selectable options for labeling, storage, and filming. This model has a light also. The unit also automatically turns on and off with the opening of the screen. I'm extremely happy with it for what I paid here on eBay.Read full review...

JVC Everio GZ-MG330

Purchased the MG330 and am pleased. Might not be the choice for a pro but for around home and my sons ball games it's excellent. Makes a decent still photo if you use a tripod. I purchased the three filter set and I reccommend it. I leave the UV filter on all the time just for a little extra lens protecetion. The fluorescent filter does make a difference in bright fluorescent light. The polarizing filter is adjustable and helps take the glare off things. Get the 30.5 mm set. Mine came with two batteries. I keep it set on the ultra fine setting. You get a little over seven hours, and if I need to video over seven hours I am doing way too much. I use a tripod at my sons games and get excellent video. Easy to use and very easy to transfer to my computer or direct to a DVD with included software. Bought refurbished from EBay dealer. Excellent price and JVC factory warranty. I don't know why it was refurbished but works perfectly. Would reccomend for anyone that wants an easy to use camera that gives good video quality and is small and light.Read full review...
