When it works it is good, when you first use it takes too long to work correctly. I have had one for about 10 years.

When I first turn it own it will not work correctly, only after 30 restart of turning it on and off does it begin to work correctly. If I had to do it over again I would buy the minicab 25. Even then on my old one it gave me troubles.Read full review

Well made but a poor design!

While the pinpointer works well, the placement of the speaker is horrible. You will inevitably press soil into it from normal use. And this unit is not water proof, meaning you cant rinse the speaker out. Also it doesnt have a vibrate mode. So once you jam the speaker with enough dirt it becomes useless. And I dont know about you but i tend to get dirt on my hands from digging. I bought a Garrett AT pointer and its mucho better, so now my minelab is my backup. That i can barely hear.Read full review

Works but not well.

I had one once before that came with my metal detector. It kept turning itself off with new batteries in it. I sent it back. I decided to try again. I thought maybe I had just got a bad one. This one stays on fine but doesn't pick up a signal very well. My old Garrett picks up from over 4 inches and this one at 2 3/4 inches on the same coin. I have one I bought for $19 that picks up better than the Minelab. I do however love my Minelab Equinox 800.Read full review

Save money and buy another pinpointer

I bought a HS-16 pinpointer for half the price and it is much better in my opinion.
It not only detects metal coins and a deeper distance, there are different modes including audio only, vibrate only and both audio and vibrate. Save money because there are other pinpointers that are better for half the price.Read full review
