    Wonderful!
Great collection of artworks, very inspiring. Almost no text, so the language doesn't matter at all.

Bridgman's Complete Guide to Drawing from Life By GeorgeB Bridgman
    25 May 2017
    A comprehensive collection of material
Basically, this is a digest of other books by Bridgman, structured and condensed into a 350 pages piece, published first in 1952 (10 years after his death) and including excerpts from "Constructive Anatomy", "Bridgman's Life Drawing", "The Book of a Hundred Hands", "The Human Machine", "Heads, Features and Faces", "The Female Form", "The Seven Laws of Folds", covering topics of balance, weight, measurements, anatomy (general and by body parts - the bulk of the book), and draping. So if you have any of those books you might find familiar images or information. The format is wider than A4 (22x28cm), the book is heavy, with rather thick paper and a soft cover. The binding doesn't allow it to open flat, but it is not needed. Personal opinion: I would recommend this book as a starter for learning constructive anatomy instead of other books: it is comprehensive and has more than enough material to learn, study and apply. Once this book has been finished and mastered, one can delve deeper into the information presented in the aforementioned books in greater detail, and pick the exact book on a specific topic instead of getting all of them. Beware: the word "lessons" ("22 expert lessons on mastering..." on the cover) is somewhat misleading. There are no step-by-step tutorials in this book (except maybe two basic things in the introduction), but there are 22 chapters, each on a specific topic, like "the hand", "the pelvis", "the foot" etc. This is not a set of tutorials, but rather a set of illustrated lectures. So don't go into this hoping for clear instructions. This book demands observation and independent studying instead of following steps. Overall it is a wonderful product for the price: a comprehensive guide on constructive anatomy with good printing that will aid you for years. Value/price: 5/5.
