Worked with old rods better than expected.

Right out of the box I went to work welding up a light utility trailer. I had 6011 rods that were probably 20 years old and they worked beautifully with this welder. I will probably never use my old AC welder again since getting this amazing DC machine. Only 18 pounds!!

Great Generator

I have had this unit for 6 years and use it at my off grid summer home for power. It is a bit noisy but very dependable and economical to run. The electric start is a must as I am fairly fit and cannot work the decompression switch and pull the starter rope simultaneously. I wish it had an idle standby setting and a remote start feature. The selector switch does not allow you to run 110 and 220 at the same time so I had to make a pigtail that splices off a 110 receptical leaving the 220 plug accessible. It has power to spare for running 220 v table saw, welder and compressor. I am very happy with it.
