Amazing features for the money, with UX tradeoffs.
2 of 2 found this helpful Great monitor, well calibrated out of the box and no defects/bright/dead pixels. Insane that you can get something this well spec'd so cheap. Pixel size is perfect for use with macs and is treated like a retina display so you have control over how you use your screen real estate. I was initially worried the back was silver based on photos (and thus reflect more light than black) but is actually a pleasant off-white with a visually appealing pattern that diffuses light well. The whole package is great value for money.
I can't comment on the stand as I brought this explictly to VESA mount on an arm; there are no issues with VESA mounting (the plate itself is a little deep but mounts to my arm without issue) but the stand seems... functional. If you don't have an arm I'd strongly recommend upgrading to the model with the fully adjustable stand as this is angle adjustment only.
Only downside of the S2721Q is the config menu, which is more fiddly and harder to read compared to the D2515H I also own. The config menu is huge -- takes up more than 1/3 of the screen, making calibration difficult -- and extremely low resolution. Interacting with it is more tedious than the D2515H because it has hardware buttons that require some force, not touch-sensitive. Not a huge issue as it's largely set and forget for me, but it feels odd to have such an poorly implemented UX on what is otherwise a visually appealing and extremely functional monitor.
