They fought the Japanese against overwhelming odds.Over 60,000 Timorese lost their lives in this campaign and then in 1975 the Aust Government sided with Indonesia to annex East Timor.
To add insult to injury the Australian Govt of Menzies refused to honour the promissory notes left by the Australian Commandos for food etc.
