Best cordless cans!
I've had Sennh cordless headphones for many years now, but all of them (even the best I've yet had - the RS185s) only have a THD rating of .5%.
Whereas the RS220s have a THD of .1% - and one can surely hear the difference!!!
The soundstage the 220s produce is deep, expansive, and totally immersive and the detail is very precise, clear, and accurate.
I believe that they have the same drivers as the HD600/650 wired cans - and it surely sounds like it!
Listening to the same CD on my pair of 185s - good though they are (especially when fed SPDIF digital) now sounds like listening through cottonwool by comparison.
I am now getting a new perspective on my favourite baroque music CDs by listening to them again through my (by now 2 pairs of!) RS220s.
A SPDIF coaxial feed to them seems to give the best quality audio, though optical is still OK/quiteacceptable - if that's all the stereo gear can provide.
Yes - their design is, as some reviews say, somewhat "tacky"; various operational factors are perhaps better on the 185s; and they do tend to have a few more "dropouts" at longer ranges (ie @ 10m+) - but then I would presume that they are transmitting/receiving a helluva lot more data.
But all these slight drawbacks are forgiven/forgotten when one hears the audioquality that they can produce!
To sum up: they are by far the best cordless cans I've ever had and they are still providing me with endless delights :-) :-).
