Works great on both old and new Macbook Air!
2 of 2 found this helpful Very happy - great value for money, works great, easy to set up on Mac, pretty lightweight and great case to travel with. I use it as a second screen while on the move and it's been fab so far.
I was hesitant to buy this screen because I'd read mixed reviews about whether it would actually work on Mac (especially my old 2014 Mac), but it works perfectly on both 2014 Mac Air and 2021 Mac Air with USB-3 to USB-C adaptor. I just had to download DisplayLink, allow permissions for it in my privacy settings, then open the DisplayLink program - then just plugged in the screen and it worked with no issues.
Initially I had the same issue as other reviewers where I plugged in the screen and it just displayed "AOC", then back to a black screen, turns out I just had to go to Applications on my Mac and re-open DisplayLink and it worked great after that.
Would prefer it to have a matte screen, as it has a fair bit of glare and you need to get the right angle, but it's easy to adjust with the stand and it's not a huge issue for me.
