Just turn it on and record the moment......simple with hi resolution.
As a senior and retired professional photographer, I never became engaged with camcorders. I purchased one Zi8 and found it to easily replace a bulkey 35mm style digital camera. So, I purchased three more as gifts, one for a friend who has been a pro photographer most of his life. He was amazed at the resolution, the capabilities, and size, to have available at anytime, anyplace. Recommend using a tripod for panning, and keeping video shots to no less than 15 seconds. Snapshot resolution and enlargement prints can equal moderately priced cameras.l
