This item will not work on batteries. It had a broken battery lid and a cracked casing. It was not working as described in the ad. The damage was not referred to. The seller was threatening in his response. The postage cost displayed on the parcel was about half of what was charged

Never advertised the unit worked on batteries. Showed working on an automotive 12 volt supply lead. Offered as is, at an agreed postage and handling cost which buyer accepted. Unrealistic expectation of as new condition for a 20 year old device at a dirt cheap price of $9! Total Wanker, do not deal with.
