    Shure SCL5/E5C Headphones
I play bass guitar in a band that uses wireless monitors on stage. Everyone in the band (except me) bought the Shure PSM200 System with P2R wireless receivers. I bought a less expensive Carvin EM900 System. The sound I was hearing from the Carvin was very muddy and I'd usually end up taking the headphones off midway through the first set. Instead of ditching the whole Carvin system I thought I'd try the Shure SCL5 headphones and WOW did they make a huge difference! They have two separate drivers--one for bass and the other for treble. The bass is very well defined and the ear pieces are exceptionally comfortable. I have also started listening to my iPod with the Shure SCL5 and can't believe how much richer the music sounds. These headphones are expensive and well worth the investment. The headphones come with a good assortment of foam and plastic ear pieces to ensure a snug, comfortable fit that provide incredible sound isolation, full rich bass, and crisp highs. The only possible drawback I can think of is the with the gauge of the wire used--it is very thick and durable and doesn't conceal easily. When playing bass I run the wire up the back of my shirt and bend the wire over the top of my ears. The thickness of the cable made this a bit difficult at first, but after a day or so they remain curved in the shape I've bent them into. This thickness is actually a positive aspect of these headphones since it makes them more durable and is most-likely why they sound so good.

DR Strings PURE BLUES Medium 5-String Bass Strings (45-130)

    Buy these strings
The DR Pure Blues bass strings deliver the best tone of all the strings I've tried in 45+ years. I've used DR Lo-rider nickel for several years, but the Pure Blues strings have a bit brighter tone. They are amazing.
