BEST COOKBOOK I Have ever bought!!!
A relative had a copy of this on her counter,a half glass of sweet tea later I was anxiously awaiting my copy to arrive in the mail!
The recipes are simple with relatively very few "exotic" jngredients so often found in todays newer publications.
As an East Texas girl I know the merit of being able to prepare a good Chicken Fried Steak and good bisquits, the recipes for both have replaced the ones I have buit a reputation with and have elevated these from good to the ultimate Texas accolode of "She makes a mean Chicken Fried Steak and bisquit"!
Mac n Cheese with roasted Chiles,paired with a Rib eyes and Bandera Butter can only be made better by a double recipe of Will Rodgers Coolers, a good rain and a new calf!
Texas natives,celebrate this book and cook from it, non natives, buy it, wish you were as lucky and console yourself with prepearing these fabulous dishes!
