Xerox ColorQube printing technology is awesome.
Xerox ColorQube solid ink technology (Wax), was invented by Tektronix originally, and eventually was bought by Xerox. This technology uses blocks of was that is heated by the printer, and then sprayed to produce the image, but instead of spraying directly onto the paper (like a typical ink jet), it's sprayed first onto a drum and then transferred to the paper through heated rollers similar to a laser printer. The result is a brilliant color, near photo quality printing, and jet black text that's sharp. Since the ink is actually a colored hard wax, it's waterproof, eliminating the risk of the image being smeared or having water cause the colors to run together. Since the wax is semi-glossy, the images are then semi-glossy even on standard bond paper. Since the wax is not-toxic and clean to handle there is no need to be extra careful like you must be with toner. It's extremely cost effective for higher volume printing and the printers are rated for tens of thousands of prints per month. The end result is full color graphics or photos printed at perhaps a notch or two below offset printing in quality, but at less than monochrome laser printing costs. This is green printing technology as well, with very little waste. If you need a printing technology that will produce anything from PowerPoint presentations to brochures and leaflets, to mailers and letters, this is the printing technology for you.
