Just What I Expected
0 of 1 found this helpful The Xbox 360, as with anything from Microsoft is a good product. The wired controller can be a pain, but functions well. Consoles made before November 2007 are called the Xbox 360 core. These models have the original 95nm chipset. They run very hot, and if it is left on too long, the heatsinks will melt into the Graphics Processing Unit (GPU). This is what causes the Red Ring Of Death, or RROD. Consoles manufactured in or after November 2007 are called the Xbox 360 Arcade. These consoles have the upgraded 65nm chipset. This causes them to run much cooler and allow you to have them on for extended periods of time. All consoles are powered by an Intel Dual Core 3.2 Ghz processor.The core (White disk tray bezel) doesn't come with a hard drive, while the premium (Chrome disk tray bezel) does. A hard drive can be purchased separately, as they are plug-and-play. A hard drive is required to play original xbox games. Xbox 360s come with a Xbox live silver membership (Free). Xbox live gold memberships are purchaseable, and enable you to take part in online gaming. The xbox silver membership only allows you to use the xbox live marketplace, where you can buy movies, music, games, themes, etc.. Microsoft points cards need to be purchased to be able to buy most things from the xbox live marketplace. Silver and gold memberships both enable the user to have a gamertag, which shows achievement points from set achievements in a game. The xbox 360 has extremely nice graphics, and consoles made in or after November 2007 have a built in HDMI port. For older consoles, an HDMI adapter can be purchased to enable HDMI compatibility. All xbox 360 consoles can work in many screen resolutions, including, but not limited to, 480i, 480p, 572i, 720p, 1080i, and 1080p. Xbox 360s can be hooked up to a computer monitor also, using an Xbox 360 VGA HD cable, sold separately. The Xbox 360 also has interchangable faceplates that come in many colors and styles, such as white, silver, black, wood, diamond-plated metal, and some games, such as Halo 3, Saints Row, Lost Oddessy II, Viva Pinata, Forza Motorsport 2, etc.. External Hard Drives, Computers, Portable Music Devices (Like Ipods & MP3 Players) can be hooked up to the Xbox 360 through one of the three USB ports on the console. The Xbox 360 can then access them and play data on them, such as music and movies. The Xbox 360 has an ethernet port on the back to connect to the internet, or a wireless adapter is purchasable to connect to a wireless network. If a computer is nearby, You can set it to share its wireless internet connection, then just connect an ethernet cable from the computer to the Xbox 360 console. This saves you the $99.99 that it would cost you to by the Microsoft Xbox 360 Wireless Network adapter, although the only downfall is that you must then always have your computer turned on when you want to access the Internet on the Xbox 360. The Xbox 360 Has Themes that, as I stated before, can be purchased online and downloaded to the hard drive or memory card. The theme change sthe way the Xbox 360 Dashboard and guide screens look. The themes are often companies or games, such as Verizon FIOS or Grand Theft Auto IV (GTAIV). Some themes are free, while some require Microsoft points to purchase. Anyways, In conclusion, Microsoft's Xbox 360 Gaming System Console is a high quality product that is completely worth every penny of what you will pay for it. I highly reccomend purchasing one of these, they're very fun.
