Gladiator Ace: Bill Cherry Vale, the RAF's Forgotten F..., Brian Cull 184425657X

    Review
This book undoutably provides an outline about the service of a largely forgotten ace of WWII, but I feel the book loses focus in its' primary aim - i.e.: "Cherry" Vale's experiences and events. As the book progresses its' main focus shifts to viewing the overall Middle Eastern and Greek campaigns, with mentions of Cherry Vale being inserted almost as adjuncts. As the book's focus broadens away from its' intended subject, to describe many, many air actions that Cherry Vale did not participate in - it would be more accurate to describe this book as a record of the first air campaigns of WWII in the Middle East and Greece. In this respect the book shines, as due to the inevitable allied defeat (and confusion) in Greece, much of the sqadrons' records were lost, destroyed - and, due to the confusion, air actions not documented. A bio like "Reach for the sky" it is not (in my opinion) but despite losing its' primary focus, the author has provided a commendable, and very readable book of a very desperate period of WWII.

    Great kit
A well detailed kit that is well engineered that is relatively easy to build, resulting in an accurate model of this big aircraft. With a lot of after market upgrade items the options are unlimited as to how finely detailed you wish to go! Highly recommended.

    Gem of a book
A delightful book of a man and his dog travelling through some of the most picturesque places on this earth. The highs and lows of their adventures are enriching as they are entertaining. A highly recommended book!
