In spite of occasional frame rate drops, I personally like the GameCube version better.
I had the PS2 version a while back, and the loading was painful and took about an eternity. The loading in the GameCube version is fast, but on the downside there are occasional frame rate drops. But that doesn't bother me as much as agonizingly long loading. I would have given this 5 stars but because of frame rate drops, I give it 4. I am very pleased with it and I still have fun playing it even during the frame rate drops. I highly recommend this if you have a Nintendo GameCube or a Wii.

Awesome game.
If you have a Nintendo 64, please add this to your game library. You will not regret it. It's one of the best games for the console.

If you need to save your GameCube progress, get this now. Don't be scared because it's third party. It works flawlessly. You will not regret it. A+
