Nikon Coolpix S3000 takes real nice photos,but...
1 of 1 found this helpful ..I bought mine refurbished and within four or five days, the lens wouldn't work good anymore. Getting a " LENS ERROR" message. So, I sent it back today, for a refund. I went ahead and ordered a different one from a different placeand yes, a refurbished one. I hope that one I'm sending back with the lens error was just a fluke. The camera DOES take nice photos. I was happy about that. A lot of point and shoots don't take the best picture and this on is good.
Nice, small and slim. I like that. I own a Nikon Coolpix S8000 but I find it a bit large for a purse and the pix quality is so so. I just hope this other one I ordered doesn't give me problems..or it goes back too!
Love Nikon but don't like problems.

My review is not as nice as the others!
1 of 2 found this helpful Either I bought a lemon or the picture quality really is not all that great like some people say! I am not so pleased with this camera like others are. Kinda like tone deaf people who think they can sing and they are truely terrible. Some shots come out decent. On the flip side, I love the camera's quick video button and quality of the video w/ stereo sound. You just have to really know what setting to use or you will have bad pics..even with auto mode!The pictures are just not all that great. Yes, I am disapointed with this Nikon Coolpix S8000. But not enough to get rid of it. Thank god for photo editing!!
I find it a bit heavy and the metals used for the body are not top quality. Very thin body metal. Be careful..easily dents and the pop up flash..the meteal around it is easy to push in and it causes the flash to not pop up. Had that happen to me and I took the " PLASTIC SIDE PANNEL"(..yes..Plastic..) off, used a needle nose pliers and a cloth (keep from scratching the metal) and bent the framing around the flash back out and then the flash popped up again. Of couse, put it all back together. Before I did this, I called Nikon to see about a refund or a new one and they said no...I damaged the camera. So, I fixed it myself and I did a pretty good job...Thanks Nikon. You made me look like a skilled technitian! The materails you used for the body on this camera are cheap and you should have used better stuff and none of this would have happened!!!
