Smooth transaction, great seller, good communication, packed well and shipped fast, unit perfect and works fine, recommended A++
Does everything the 580ex II does,at half the price. Single Unit/Master/Slave switch is BETTER than the 580ex II menu access for these items. The only drawback is that you CAN'T control this flash (except for FEC) from the Canon DSLR menu. This takes about 30 seconds to get used to. All in all - an excellent flash unit.
Edit 5/8/2010:
I now use one of these as master and another as slave, along with a 430ex II. I couldn't ask for better flash units. The 550ex is very easy to use in a multi-flash setup. It has more than enough power to work quite well with my 30" umbrellas. This is a fantastic flash unit! I love it (them).

Contax TLA-30 flash

Very nice flash unit for Contax or Yashica manual bodies (139, or FX-series).
Flash features two full-auto modes, so you have a choice of auto-mode apertures. Also can be used manually in: full power, 1/4 power, and 1/16 power. The extremely nice settings wheel on the back of the camera allows a manual user to instantly know which aperture to choose, without doing any calculations. The flash head can be angled down slightly for very close/macro work, or angles up (up to vertical) for bouncing flash off ceiling or using any flash modifier/attachment. Natively, the unit covers to 28mm wide-angle lens, The unit comes with a 'wide-angle panel' that clips on and increases wide coverage to about 20mm.
As an added bonus, the trigger voltage is below 6V, so I can use this flash on any modern Canon (possibly other brands) digital SLR. This is an inexpensive do-it-all flash. Highly recommended for film or digital.

Great walk-around lens for film or digital.
I specifically purchased this lens to use on my 35mm film camera. It is a nice light, fast-focusing, general purpose lens. I will be using it on my digital from time-to-time, also. Most of my lenses are EF-S, so they will not work on a 35mm film camera. I don't do a lot of film photography, so I didn't want to spend a lot of money. The alternative was the EF 28-135mm IS USM. While that lens has (I)mage (S)tablilization, it is also much heavier and larger - and costs about three times as much. Image quality on these two lenses is near identical.
If I need to go longer than 105, I have an EF 70-300 IS USM. So the difference from 28-105 to 28-135 was just not worth the money to me. I am very happy with the Canon 28-105 USM II lens.
