About

Just a guy who sells stuff I no longer use. I take care of my things, and would not list anything that is not in good enough shape to be used again. I typically sell old camera gear, but I sometimes extend to motorcycle parts and household items.

USB-C 3.1 Type-C to Lightning 8-Pin Port Charging Data Transmission Cable 1M
23 November 2017
Great alternative to using adapters
I got one of the new Macbook Pros with the USB-C ports, which is nice because it saves space, but meant I needed to get adapters for all my USB cables. Adapters get lost, and sometimes the connection isn't solid. This cable solved that need nicely, and it works perfectly. It is lighter and more flexible than a genuine Apple cable, so my only concern is that it will wear out or break, but only time will tell if that's the case. Still a great investment, good value for money, and I will definitely be ordering a few more.
Edge Cut 1'' Handlebar Hand Grips for Harley Sportster Dyna Softail XL FB

Great for the price, but better options are out there
First, the look is great. I bought these to replace a genuine Harley grip that had been damaged, and I didn't want to pay Harley prices for the new set. At a glance, they look exactly the same. The all-aluminium construction seems solid as well. They fit perfectly and at a glance, you'd never know they weren't a genuine item. But a couple things that are of slight concern; First, they're milled in three parts. It's not one solid piece of metal. Each end is separate to the main grip portion, the seams hidden by the rubber rings. That's OK, because the machining seems top-notch and they fit tightly together. But you can unscrew each component. The manufacturer has thought of details like reversing the thread direction, presumably so that it won't unscrew itself when you twist the throttle. Except that, the thread directions are backwards - the left side unscrews clockwise, the throttle side anti-clockwise, when it should be the other way around. Still, I put some lock-tite on the threads and it seems fine. You could even put some epoxy on the threads for a permanent bond if you were concerned. The only reason you'd ever need to unscrew the components would be to replace the rubber grip rings, which brings me to the next issue... The other thing is the rubber grip rings. They are soft and stretchy, and I feel they will easily work their way off. I think a little more could have been put into this for a more robust rubber, but I understand this is a budget item. I doubt they will interfere with riding under normal conditions. And you could probably replace them if it became a problem. Overall, I'd recommend them if you want to save money and the look is more important. They do look great and they function as they should. But if you want the best quality, spend a bit more on the genuine Harley grips.
XBOX 360 Far Cry 4

Great gaming experience!
If you're familiar with the Far Cry series, this game has a great combination of features that made the previous games a lot of fun, with a few new surprises. Some critics have pointed out that much of the game play was too similar to Far Cry 3. I can see that, but it's not a negative for me. I loved Far Cry 3, so experiencing some of the best aspects of that game in a new setting is big plus for me. The controls and options are fairly complex and detailed, so to be able to carry some of the functionality over from a familiar game saves time in learning, and you can just get right into it. I like how they've simplified the ability syringe system. I found that clunky in the previous game, and so it discouraged me from using it. In this game, I find myself using the syringes a lot more, which gives me more tactical options. Some of the new features, such as the helicopter, grappling hook, being able to shoot while driving and riding elephants add a new dimension to this game that really draws you in. The setting is fantastic and detailed. Probably my favorite aspect is that this is a seriously long and detailed game, but you can chip away at it with a pace of your choosing. What I mean is that if you've got a few hours, you can really immerse yourself, but if you've only got 30 minutes or so, it's pretty easy to find a short mission or just explore for a while. There's much to do and see. If you're a fan of the series, you have to play this game. But even if you've not played the others, you won't feel like you need to do any catching up, as the story and characters are mostly unique. A good combination of action, exploration and decision-making makes this an adventure game for a wide range of players. Finally, I have not done any of the co-op or online versions, so can't comment there. Looking forward to that once I finish the solo campaign!
