Monroe Sensa-Trac Load Adjusting Shock Absorber 58539
13 February 2020
Perfect solution for my sagging 1963 T-Bird.
My 1963 T-Bird was sagging a little--maybe an inch--in the rear and I was looking for a way to get it back to a level ride height without replacing the leaf springs. Some of the reviews for these shocks described the difficulty of getting them installed, but I did not find that to be true at all. Other reviews mentioned noise attributed to the new shocks, something else that I did not find to be true. Because the springs are not adjustable, it was really a gamble as to whether or not these shocks would be the right solution for my particular car and condition. But I talked to Monroe and was told that they were not designed to change the ride height of the car; rather they were mainly designed to add extra capacity for towing with extra weight on the rear axle. Of course the addition of any extra spring in the rear is going to raise the rear of the car by some amount, so the real question is by how much. In my case it was a perfect match. Installation does require the use of a floor jack or something similar to raise and lower the rear axle independent of the use of a jack and jack stands or other means to raise the car body itself and hold it up securely. But there is no need--and it's very unsafe--to attempt to jack up the shock absorber itself to get it into place. I did find--and some other reviewers noted this as well--that the springs were not installed in the same direction on each shock. The fact that this has been noted by other buyers suggests that manufacturing methods are a little lax in this area. The good news is that this characteristic will not affect the performance at all and, in my case, the shocks are far enough under the car so as not to be easily seen. I do think the name of the shock absorber, "Load Adjusting", may be a little misleading since these shocks are not adjustable.
TSP Black Pro Series Distributor V8 Female Cap & Rotor JM6974BK
18 November 2020
A little tight on the distributor body, but looks just like OEM style.
Rather than use the male-style cap that is normally supplied with the TSP Ready-to-Run Pro Series distributor, I wanted to retain the OEM look in my 1964 Pontiac. This cap is slightly taller than the OEM setup when installed on its distributor, but there is plenty of space for this on my Pontiac engine. My only comment about the quality of this cap is that it is a fairly tight fit on the aluminum body of the TSP distributor. It's held on with two quarter-turn screws very similar to the OEM design, but I noticed that if I weren't careful, the cap could be cocked a little and not seat evenly all around. I used this cap with the original-style 7 mm black wires, not the 8 mm wires that are normally used with this type of upgraded distributor.
WC03X10010 New General Electric Disposal Splash Guard Hotpoint Sears Kenmore RCA

Just like original, but diameter a little small for a snug fit.
This splash guard appears to be just like the OEM version. But the diameter is a little small to fit snuggly into the disposer, so if there is already liquid in the disposer when the switch is turned on, this splash guard can move out of place and possibly fall into the disposer or become lodged sideways in the drain.
