Fireforce: One Man's War in the Rhodesian Light Infantry by Chris Cocks...
20 April 2017
Brutal, Beligerant, Brilliant
There are no winners in war and yet we are destined to repeat past mistakes. As a Rhodesian myself, I missed this war by less than a decade as I was too young. Very proud of the heritage these young men and women left for such a beautiful yet forlorn country. A visceral account of how cheap life is on both sides in war, a great read

A wonderful testimony
So glad the story has been recorded of these quite remarkable men. Against all odds is an understatement

Great read
One of the most tragic stories where those countries that readily accepted Rhodesia’s help in the world wars, not only turned their back on her but actively worked against her. Britain, America and Australia in particular should hang their collective heads in shame at the basket case that is now Zimbabwe nearly 40 years later. With the limited resources available to these men, seldom has a war been fought with such valour. There are no movies or documentaries to acknowledge their feats, but the SAS ( and many other Rhodesian Corps) are reserved in history and appreciation for a special few. There are no victors in any war but for those that fought in this one, against ridiculous odds, we salute you.
