Starter does not work with L100.
Maybe it might work on other JDs but not on an older L100. Was fine at first, then after a week the gear on the starter broke in half. Replaced that gear with the one from the original starter. It worked for a few days and then the gears from the starter and the engine would not mesh correctly. Had to keep taking the cowl off and manually twist the gear on the starter for it to go back into position.
Went to a JD dealer and they said that the gear and the starter was not correct for the engine. So now I am waiting for the correct starter to come from JD and have my tractor sitting idle again, plus the added time to take it apart and install the new starter. Not what I would call a good value.
Would not recommend this starter for a JD L100.

Hours of play for 10 year old!!
Great toy! Our grandson was thrilled to get it and has spent hours building it and playing with it!
