Can't understand why his agent allowed it
This is a collection of 38 "poems" by old GravelGuts, John Laws.
None of them is good enough to earn the title of "doggerel", which usually has a rhyming pattern and at least some observance of metre or rhythm - however naive. They are like limericks with six lines or sonnets with 13.
The subject matter is banal at best and emetic at worst.
I'd use this volume under my table leg to stop the table rocking, but it isn't even good enough for this.
The seller tried to warn me of the turgid nature of this random prose, but I didn't believe him.
He was right.
