Bullitt [Blu-ray]

Blue-Ray Version of Bullitt (1968) Is About As Close to the Quality of the Original Film as Can Be.

I love the film Bullitt (1968) and first saw it on real 35mm film when it came out in second-run repertory theaters. I consider it to be a cinematic classic. I also happen to own a 16mm print of Bullitt that I acquired back in the VHS days. I bring this up because I found the quality of the Blu-ray presentation of Bullitt to be as close to the original film as I've ever seen, including maintaining the original grain, colors, saturation, and contrast of the original. The sound quality was also about as good as it could be, faithful to the way the original sounded. And on top of the complete film, the Blu-Ray version has many first-rate bonuses or extras. I won't review the film itself here because you can learn about the plot, story, and characters from many other sources elsewhere. But I will tell you that if you find the story a little difficult to follow, you're not alone. It took me several viewings to really grasp the meaning of all the details in the storyline.
