Classic.
For those who know and own Ice Cube's Amerikkka's Most Wanted, or any other essential early 1990's hip-hop tour de force albums- Make sure you get a copy of Kool G Rap and DJ Polo's "Live and Let Die". Lyricially- this soars, with Kool's hardcore new york cadence. I'd describe it as being something along the lines of a hip-hop mix up with The Godfather and Superly but with the life of an every street just trying to get by. Musically- breakbeats and samples are groovy and hardcore- with each song being a classic in its own right. Call it gangster rap, call it mafio-so rap- call it 'reality rap', but for every fan of Nas, Biggie Smalls, 2pac, Big Pun and any other emcee- you'll appreciate Kool's strength of street knowledge- new york wiseguy style. On this album, Kool G will battle the mafia, bring bravado, even try to get a little action with the ladies but get cockblocked, and will generally have you digging the flows. Scarface, Bushwick Bill and Ice Cube even turn up for the last track "Two to the head"- Produced by Sir Jinx- This is an important record. For those who are avid Public Enemy, Ice Cube and other pioneers- if you don't own this on CD or Wax- stop saying you already own this. You need to actually own this.

Worth the purchase
Nice reprint of a classic breakbeat record and hip hop origins story epic. Illustration and red Perspex vinyl.
Sound quality is warm and full. A full bodied sound that a fine wine has aged well and is presented with a perfect sonic quality.
