It was sounding like a good gig, then the riot started...
Recording of an unusual performance by an unusually angry young Cohen with a band in Israel. He gives it his best with a series of early numbers, including the #1 version of 'Chelsea Hotel' which is otherwise very hard to find and has some different verses to the studio-recorded #2. However, crowd interaction was being prevented by assiduous security, and after midway through the set Cohen improvised a song to make fun of them, things eventually turned nasty; the last few minutes of the recording are just sounds of a riot and the stage being cleared before someone finally switched off the recorder! So there's only about half an hour of actual performance here, but to make up for that in some way this issue contains two segments of interview with Cohen, the interviewer's prompts edited out so that one just has fifteen minutes of Cohen musing on art, the nature of talent (a social construction intended to inhibit free expression) and so on. It's a different view on the man and his work than you get from the later albums, and you may not like Cohen any better for either the musings or the working a crowd up to a riot, but as a document and as a performance this is worth adding to the collection.

Vintage model in excellent working condition
Despite its age this ran straight out of the box and is still happily doing so. Some careful previous owner had done a beautiful job of repainting it; the cream colour has now yellowed somewhat but the finish is still excellent. As machinery it's smooth and looks classy running. This is in better shape and condition than the one of these I'd used before on someone else's layout.

Looks the part and works as we wish all model railway engines worked
A nice model that looks the part but also works under the 'hood'; it runs well at high and low speeds and copes well with both Peco and Hornby track and points new and old. Made at that sweet spot where they basically just worked. Will shift pretty much any reasonable load too. There may be more finely detailed 00 Hall class models out there but this one might be preferable for anything but the really serious modeller.
