Duracell Premium Charger is faster BUT will not charge some older NiMh Batteries
4 of 4 found this helpful The Duracell 1-2.5 HOUR "Premium Charger" is faster BUT it will not charge several of my older Duracell, Tenergy and Sanyo Eneloop NiMh batteries. (Flashing red light, error and not charging) Same batteries in the Duracell 4-8 HOUR "Value Charger" took much longer but it did charge the batteries.
(My old Tenergy TN156 charger also works on all my batteries and I can charge one at a time and not need to charge in pairs plus it has a display to monitor progress.)
Note: Both Duracell chargers only charge batteries in pairs and they only "Fast Charge" when just two batteries are charged at a time. When 4 batteries are charged the mA power is cut in half and the time to charge is doubled.
Just my guess but like with all chargers, the faster the charge the shorter the battery life.
I only use the Premium charger when I need a battery charged quickly. All other times, I use the
Value Charger (or Tenergy) and fully load 4 batteries in charger. It is slower but the batteries should last longer.

Great mp3 player for us non-smart phone users
Just as describe. Received new player and it works great at a good price.

Energizer Batteries are fine but should be made in the USA
Energizer CR2032 batteries look fine and work in my device. They would be better if they were still made in the USA.
