Great low-noise, high SPL mic
A very low-noise, high-max-SPL small diaphragm condenser. There is a slight dip in frequency response at 500Hz, followed by a slow rise. The high-max SPL allows it to handle very loud sources (such as loud drum kits) without distortion. The low-noise characteristic means that this mic can be used on almost any source with good results. So this is a highly versatile, quality mic for a wide range of applications. Matched stereo pairs are perfect for authentic recordings of almost any acoustic sources. Output is balanced with a generously sized transformer, without interference and distortion. The CEMC-6 features a -10 dB and -20 dB pad switch and a two-position high pass filter with 75hz and 150hz settings. Interchangeable capsules can be switched out to achieve different polarities, adding to this mic’s flexibility. It’s outstanding as a drum overhead, or on any part of a drum kit, an electric guitar amp, an acoustic guitar, or any strings. Switch to omni-polarity capsules for spaced-omni stereo recording. The CEMC6 is an exceptional mic!
