Vortex Vulture HD 8x56 Binocular VR-0856 - Open Box

Great optics; great price
I am sold on Vortex optics. I have 3 binos made by them--10x42, 12x50 and now this 8x56--and have been impressed with each for the quality of the optics for the price. They all are bright, clear and sharp and are a fraction the cost of some of the high-end competitors. Their only drawback is their slightly heavier weight. I would recommend them to anyone on a budget who is serious about birding or astronomy.

Incredible glasses for the price
I bought these binoculars because I needed something light for longer hikes and I was tired of carrying my heavy Vortex 10 x 42s. I am impressed with how light they are--lighter than my wife's Swarovski SLC 8 x 30s--and the sharp images they give for the price. The optics are impressively bright and sharp to the edges and I find the eye relief very comfortable for the fact I wear glasses. They almost measure up to the Swarovskis in optical quality and are certainly just as bright to my eye. The strap and lens caps also seem to work quite well. All around a bargain for the price.
