Resilience: Hard-Won Wisdom for Living a Better Life Greitens, Eric
26 December 2015
Best Life-Changing book I've ever read!!
I've read a lot of self help books over the years. THIS is really what I needed to strengthen myself to handle personal challenges I have in my life. I read the book, listened to the CD, now I have the book for Christmas I'll be ordering the CD's for my road trips. This is the positive, encouraging, kick yourself in the butt and get moving advice that everyone should have. The younger generation who are probably spoiled by their luxurious circumstances of today's world need this. Whether they realize it or not, we are all quite spoiled today when we compare ourselves to the "Greatest Generation" of years ago.. The middle aged people who struggle with any type of problem need this. The older generation who think their best years and vitality have passed them by need this. I highly recommend this book to anyone, especially those who have struggled, and those who struggle now, with either disciplining themselves to make their life better or to make a change in the world, or an illness or infirmity. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS BOOK. Thank you Eric Greitens for sharing your knowledge of literature, ancient stories and the challenges of your friend. Somehow it's easy to listen to and accept your advice because I know you're not kicking my butt, you're kicking your friend's butt. Then I think about it, absorb it, and realize that your advice to your friend directly applies to me. Insightful, thought provoking, and life changing. I read some negative reviews on this previously, but I think the specifics they criticized are moot points. One criticized Greiten's use of ancient literature, but it directly applies to his topics. Some criticize Greiten's writing style, and say that the writing style is poor...but this is a moot point, as this is designed as letters to a friend, which have been modified, and now can be applied to others seeking sage wisdom from a Navy Seal.
Pilot Refill for G2 Gel Pen Fine Point Blue 2 Count PIL 77241 New Item Pack of 3

Best refill I've ever used!
I love these refills. I've used them for years. I started using them for work years ago as a refill for another brand pen because they write so well. The packaging says Fine point, and it's the industry standard for a .7mm tip, but because it is a gel pen I think it feels is more like a medium point. The pen this is made for is not as sturdy as I like but I hollow out the tip of a different pen which has a metal tip and I use this refill in that pen. It makes for a great pen without a lot of money. If I lose it I'm only out a couple bucks--but it writes like a very expensive pen and looks professional. The pen body I use is the Tul clicker pen from Office Max. This refill is actually has better writing tip than the Tul pen itself...so I look forward to reloading the pen with THIS refill. I have gone through a lot of these refills because I write so much. They write really well all the way until the ink is completely gone. It also has a see through chamber so you can check to see if you're getting close to running out. LOVE this pen refill!!
Olympus Stylus Tough 8000 12.0 MP Digital Camera - Black - H04505300

Tough! Good camera, but not good for quick use
I have used the Olympus Tough cameras for work for years...mostly the Tough T6000. I know that these cameras are not the quickest, as per other reviews...but they are tough. I once had a T6000 fall down a cliff, bouncing every 15 feet or so until it came to rest 75 feet away from me. No kidding, I measured it. It still worked great for years. Back to the T8000. I like that it is quicker than the T6000, but it still takes a little while to focus, and takes some time powering it up to be ready to shoot. So--plan ahead. Luckily I use it for work, mostly for photographing houses. It works well in low light with High Auto and exposure compensation increased +.3, and the flash is powerful. My only complaint on this camera is a feature I was used to on my last camera. When set up to shoot multiple shots, it does not show you a preview. So if the setting is on multiple shots, and you click it once, the screen does not hardly indicate that you took a photo. In order to have the preview feature on (which can be set to be on or off), the multiple photo option must be off, with the camera set to take one photo at a time. Then, with the multiple photo option OFF you can see your preview. Light and shadow balance seems to be less perfect than my old model, but I'm getting used to that, and now that I can see the preview, it is helpful to check it and see if the shot came out like I wanted. I highly recommend this camera for people shooting landscape, houses and still objects. Not recommended for squirmy children, animals or wildlife.
