2 of 2 found this helpful Perfect. A little bump for my old machine. i've replaced my old q9450 with this one. Just use a good thermal paste, and the stock intel cooler will work ( the tall one, not the small). 70c at full load is acceptable. 120w tdp is a lot. Remember that this will work only on some motherboards, just check google..." your mother + xeon mod "or something like that. Reset your cmos before boot.
Pd: there's some stepping (submodels) that allow a lot of overclock. If you're going to play with that option, check first with vendor with stepping are shipping. Regards.
