Like the Eagles? Well this is an updated grab.
A retread of songs composed by Tempchin and Glen Frey for The Eagles in their heyday, and a tribute album to Frey on his death. Great stuff which packs a considerable emotional wallop, added to by a more reflective acoustic vibe compared to the original Eagles' originals. Thoroughly recommendable.

As good as ever
This is really Cooder's songs-for-the-new-depression album, and a sort of update to his Purple Valley album from the early 70s which featured songs from the original 30s Depression. Done with a good deal of humour this latest one, and his usual musical flourishes intact. Great accordion touches from the ageless Flaco Jiminez, who Cooder first launched onto the world stage with him as band member on the '76 Chicken Skin Music album. All in all one of Cooder's very best.
