Great game!
A much better game than the Medal of Honor: Frontline in that it has save points during a level rather than taking you all the way back to the beginning. Great graphics, and a damn interesting story. Realistic weapons and action, and halfway through the game, my damned XBox 360 severely scratched the disc, so I'm now on my second disk. By the way - DO NOT USE THE XBOX 360 IN THE VERTICAL POSITION - THE SLIGHTEST JAR WHILE THE MACHINE IS RUNNING COULD DAMAGE THE DISK INSIDE. Use it horizontally.

Delaware & Hudson - a great book about a great bridge line railroad
A recommended history by rail historian and photographer JIm Shaughnessy. Mr. Shaughnessy had many friends on the D&H, and he also had access to the company's historical records. This was one of the first books on the old D&H, published in hardcover in 1967, and the newer edition has been updated with additional information. It doesn't have as many color photographs as later books about this historical railroad, but it has historical accuracy rivaled by few. The book gives a timeline of the early history of the D&H from its early canal days to all its acquisitions of rail properties and its growth through the glory years of the late 1800 and early 1900s when it became a coal carrier and a "Bridge Route" to New England railroads. The D&H was an extremely profitable railroad at one time, mostly through its Hudson Coal business, and held shares in many eastern railroads which helped D&H keep friendly connections. With the advent of motor trucking, the D&H, like other Northeast railroads began to shrink, and it was pounded by the merger of the New York Central and Pennsylvania and later Conrail. It began its decline until its bankruptcy in 1986 and eventual acquisition by Canadian Pacific. I highly recommend this book. I bought it for my father (who was a D&H employee for nearly 42 years) back in 1967, and I went to work for them in 1968 and put in 41 years of my own.The D&H was very much a family road, with multiple generations of families working on "the D&H". You knew most of the management on a first-name basisi as many had been employees that had been promoted up through the ranks. It was welll-run, efficient, and D&H men were proud of "their" railroad.

Medal of Honor European Assault (Xbox, 2005)
I got hooked on the Medal of Honor game with the "MOH Frontline", and followed up with this game. Very realistic war and strategy, teaches you not to make frontal assaults but to try to find a better method, like a flanking attack. The weaponry and graphics are superb. The main difference between "Frontline" and "Assault" is you're pretty much a lone wolf in the first, but in the second, you have to command a team to help you subdue the enemy. If you go it alone, you will get the sh*t shot out of you, but using the team to coordinate fire, you stand a better chance. The main problem I found with the game is that in the levels, there is no way to save progress Near the end, in clearing the farmhouse, I keep getting shot to crap and no weapons or ammo to be found and impossible to complete the level after nearly 200 tries. Very frustrating, and I ended up putting it away rather than destroying it in anger. For the lack of level saves, I give the game a below-average rating.
