An important book on an important topic
There has been so much written on 'Being Mortal' already. I will just add that if you are of the mindset that medical professionals have all the answers and one need just follow their instructions, you certainly need to read this book. Dr. Guwande introduces the shortcomings of the medical profession as it fails to deal with the most important health topic we face, that of a 'good life' when staring at the end of life.
The book is neither grim nor morbid. His view is enlightening and uplifting.
