What does Perfect Working Order mean? Alpine CDE-9841R
1 of 2 found this helpful I like the sound of the player, but unfortunately that is all I can say on the pro-side. The cons are:
- Player is noisy; when I put a CD into it, it sometimes makes a ticking sound with each revolution of the media. Often the ticking is replaced with a sound that tells me the CD is rubbing against something inside the player with each rev.
- The volume button works perfectly when turning the volume up, but down again is another matter altogether; it takes an average of four touches of the button to lower the volume one increment.
- I often get an ERROR message in the display when turning the player on or switch between sources.
This is not the unit you want to fiddle with in your car when driving!

Crucial is crucial to my G5.
Works for me, although the reason I had to replace them, was that one of my existing Crucials keeled. I'm Ok now for a while, with three spare RAM modules... Happy days!
